Information Communication and Technology
In my University studies, I have been a part of a learning cohort studying 'Teaching With IT". In this particular unit, I have completed many tasks that involve software applications and the creation of websites and have also been introduced to WEB 2.0 social media accounts through another university unit called "Learning Spaces".
I came to the unit with minimal knowledge of current ICT particularly in the school setting. I am very keen to continue to become familiar with applications that can be used to enhance and support the teaching and learning in a classroom.
The list of software and applications that I have explored and used with students is as follows:
- Using Tables in Word
- Using Excel
- Using Drawing Tools in Word particularly in Pre-schooling years
- Comic Life Software
- Scratch Software
- Learning to capture screen shots
- IPad Apps especially for Specially Education including Proloquo 2Go
- Creation of a website using Weebly
- Creation of this digital portfolio
- Movie Creation using iMovie, (see below)
- Mind Mapping using Kidspiration (c)
Other units at University have allowed me to:
- Design a classroom layout using SketchUp software
- Learn how to upload a video to youtube
- Create a blog website called "webclasscommunity"
- Open a Twitter account called "wccom"
- Connect my Twitter account to my website
- Create an iMovie, uploaded on youtube, of my understandings in my studies on "Learning Spaces"
